Throw What You Got At Them

By | September 9, 2009

This is for people who are in a relationship right now, and it’s meant to see more of the person, then maybe you even knew about. The object for these exercises are to see how they react when you put the other person in certain situations.

This is always a good one. Take your boyfriend/girlfriend to a social situation where they are meeting new friends of yours for the first time. This could be a party, or some other social gathering. Then sometime during the event, excuse yourself for a little bit. As you stand on the other side of the room, watch them as they interact with your other friends.

Party Introductions

The goal is not to help there social life expand, but to watch them, and how they act when they are put in an new situation. Do they act social? Do they look uncomfortable? How do they manage when they are not with you?

This could indicate that they are not afraid of new situations, and they can handle themselves well when you are not around. Plus it’s just a good way to see them in new situations.

Next I would just start a silly argument about nothing. Just come up with something on the top of your head. The point is not to make them mad, but to see how they react to your argument. Do they try to understand what the argument is really about? Do they just get mad and blow it up bigger? Do they try and calm you down? Are they willing to compromise? These are important questions to find out the answers to. You will be living with this person the rest of your life. I try to figure out these questions before I say, “I Do.”

I also have to add a disclaimer to this, Be careful, you don’t want to throw to much at them all at once, or you may just find yourself single again. Try not to push your boyfriend/girlfriend to hard. Otherwise it will get ugly, but you do need to know the answer to these questions.

Have Fun, and Date!
