What sources of information are available on the safety or environmental implications of chemicals and chemical reactions? Why is it important to ensure that these sources are up to date?
You want the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). There are a number (hell, a number of numbers) of places to look for whatever it is that you need to know about. I’ve included some links below.
I’ve never had to use them myself, but my father ran a wafer fabrication facility his entire life, and was looking at them all the time.
