They are right when it comes to setting yourself up for disappointment. I’ve dated online quite a bit.. and the best stuff has gone on when we’ve met IRL quickly after talking online. You just MIGHT get lucky… that you adore the person anyhow.. but.. don’t think it’s gonna happen more than like 5 % of the time… that means ALOT of disappointment… Remember you are really falling in love with the idea of the person + your imagination

Yes, it’s happend …
Yes, it’s happend twice to me. Once was terrible, the other amazing.
- I “dated” this guy I met online for 9 months. We finally met up and hit it off great and we’re still dating, he moved closer to me and we’ve now been dating for almost 2 years.
- Shortly before that I had another online relationship and that turned out terrible. We hit it off great online, but whne we finally met all turned into a diaster.
So it really goes both ways.

I fell in love with a guy from Quebec, Canada and i’m from Wisconsin. We met through a chat room that was not even for dating, we were just messing around and joking with each other but kept coming back the next couple of days to chat with each other. We finally exchanged msn and we talk for about 4-5 hours a day. I’ve never fallen in love with a guy that was physically near. It’s all about chemistry, acceptance, patience, and communication. No two people are alike. Don’t give up.

I’ve been with my fiance for over 4 1/2 years, and we met online. It can work, it’s not always easy (we were long-distance for 1 1/2 years). I knew I was in love with him two weeks after meeting him.
