Gas safety regulations?
By | December 23, 2009
s anyone out there a landlord, or knows a landlord who has been prosecuted for not having an up to date gas safety certificate ? I’m interested in knowing what the penalty imposed was and how out of date the certificate was when prosecuted. My landlady is stalling and stalling over renewing ours and given that I have a new baby who’s health is potentially at risk, i’d like some facts and figures to present to her.
Hope some of you can help.
Please do ring up the local Citizens Advice bureau and book an appointment. They will certainly give you guidance on how to resolve this, and I think it would be useful for some person to advise you given that you have a new baby, and this can help relieve some stress. Its also useful to air feelings and get rid of stress and tension so I would advise that be done also.
Make sure when you go that you make sure you get good answers out of the advisor and persist. Really test them. Some advisors are better than others. Don’t get referred here there and everywhere. It may need two appointments.
The internet is stressful but you can look at www.direct.gov.uk . If you make careful selections and browse the relevant topics – see "Home and Community" for example, you may find advice there. The website might help you with other problems you might anticipate in the future.
