Because how meaningful will the "acceptance" be if it isn’t obvious that the "acceptance test" was run, and that the test worked ?

Compliance tests as they are at times called, are run to ensure candidate authenticity, invariably it is the genuine candidates who are the most harshly and rigorously tested, usually until they are deemed viable no more.
The consumer orientated market is geared toward consumer compatibility rather than the best safety critical software marketed. The reason behind this farcical nonsense is two opposing wills, one gaining power by rational perfectionist productivity, the other a wilful destructive force roused to destroy and peaceable conciliatory reactions in the market.
Equitability in this circumstance has resulted in neither the consumer or the producer gaining a discernable lead, both being embroiled in the dramatic cesspit of their own creation.
Solution : Reason, peace and social order must always prevail. The determined greater good rather than the indulgent pandering of consumer whims and wiles that are originated not by the said consumer but by the exploitation of supply and demand laws, whereby a producer creates a faddish demand rather there being any actually need or credence to a given demand for a product.
