Have any idea for cheap fun dates?

I have been thinking that I want to take my boyfriend out for a very special day, he has been having a really hard time a work lately and he seems really down. I wanted to really do something special for him, but we have so many things planned the next couple of weeks that I don’t have the extra money to take him out. Does anyone have any ideas of something cheap that can be done? Keeping in mind that I live in Michigan.
Check out your local newspaper , sometimes they advertise free community events like concerts, county fairs and recreation for people .

bowling is really cheap!
also if you’re by a beach or something thats always fun and can be a little romantic if you let it be

Picnic in the sun by water……make the basket really special with yummy "he would have never guessed" surprises.

Mini golf and bowling is cheep and fun a good way too goof off and be playful or even go cart racing or just chillin at a movie theatre
